De 11 a 15 de Abril de 2011 decorre a Semana Europeia da Energia Sustentável, um evento-chave da União Europeia para promover um futuro energético mais sustentável. Nesta semana centenas de eventos organizados em todas as partes da europa irão apresentar, promover, discutir e comemorar a eficiência energética e energias renováveis. Para tal, a União Europeia faz o convite às instituições por toda a Europa à organização de um “Energy Day” para promover a eficiência energética e energias renováveis. No âmbito da Semana Europeia da Energia Sustentável, a Escola Superior de Tecnologia e Gestão do Instituto Politécnico de Leiria irá promover, no dia 12 de Abril, o Dia da Energia Sustentável. Ao longo deste dia irão decorrer várias actividades dedicadas ao tema da eficiência energética e energia renovável, em articulação com as nossas áreas tecnológicas.
As actividades incluem: palestras e seminários com o contributo de vários especialistas, um workshop de cozinha solar, exposições e laboratórios abertos.
Ao longo do dia será também promovida a iniciativa carpooling, em que se incentiva que o acesso ao Campus em veículo automóvel se faça partilhando este recurso.
Será ainda lançado um desafio para estudantes do ensino secundário: escrever um artigo para um Jornal no âmbito do tema da eco-condução.

Between 11th and 15th of April 2011, the European Union promotes the EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW), the Europe's key event for a more sustainable energy future. Hundreds of events organised in all parts of Europe will show, promote, discuss and celebrate energy efficiency and renewable energy.
During the EUSEW, the School of Technology and Management (ESTG) of the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria (Portugal) will promote, on the 12th of April, the Energy Day. On the day, many activities are will take place aimed at energy efficiency and renewable energy, mostly related to our technological areas of interest.
Activities include: lectures and seminars with the contribution of experts, a workshop about solar kitchen, exhibitions and open laboratories.
During the event, it will also be fomented the carpooling initiative promoting that access to the campus in motor vehicles is done by sharing this resource.
Additionally, it will be launched a challenge for secondary school students, consisting of writing an article for a newspaper on the topic of eco-driving.
